Shayna N. Prickett is a dedicated member of the Firm’s litigation team, representing individuals and businesses in a broad range of disputes. Her primary areas of practice include commercial and insurance litigation and labor and employment law.

Shayna brings valuable experience to complex civil matters, having previously served as a judicial clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska. Her work in federal court deepened her understanding of high-stakes litigation and sharpened her ability to navigate multifaceted legal issues.

In the realm of commercial and insurance litigation, Shayna advocates for clients facing contract disputes, coverage issues, and liability claims. She also works with professionals in litigation involving claims of professional negligence. Shayna works closely with clients to develop strong defense strategies, manage risk, and navigate the technical challenges that often arise in complex litigation.

Shayna's labor and employment practice focuses on advising employers, nonprofits, and organizations on creating equitable, compliant, and inclusive workplaces. She counsels on employment policies, employee training, and risk management strategies. With her litigation background, Shayna also helps employers navigate employment disputes that may arise.

Shayna is trained in mediation and dispute resolution and brings this skillset to both formal mediations and informal settlement negotiations. Her mediation experience enhances her ability to help clients resolve disputes efficiently and cooperatively when appropriate, while remaining a strong advocate in adversarial settings.

Before attending law school, Shayna worked in public service as a community organizer and legislative aide, experiences that strengthened her advocacy skills and shaped her thoughtful approach to legal problem-solving.

Shayna earned her Juris Doctor, with highest distinction, from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2021. Outside the office, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
