Robert (Robb) Futhey is an experienced trial attorney, providing practical business knowledge and effective strategic advice to his clients.  Robb represents businesses and individuals in litigation to resolve disputes that can’t be settled without going to the courthouse. Robb represents clients on professional liability matters, business disputes, and liability claims. Robb has litigated commercial cases in the state and federal courts of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, North Dakota, Montana, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Robb has tried over 20 jury cases and successfully defended verdicts won on appeal. A natural problem-solver, he takes time to understand the client’s overall business and legal objective, then collaborates to create a plan to meet and exceed the client’s expectations.

Another significant part of Robb’s practice is liquor licensing and compliance. Before law school, Robb managed a licensing team for a national restaurant chain, obtaining liquor licenses across the country. This first-hand industry experience gives him an insider’s perspective as he assists clients with obtaining state liquor licenses and other required operational permits for restaurants, bars, and liquor stores. The liquor license application process in Nebraska can be challenging, which is why Robb sits down with clients to gain a better understanding of their business, event, and usage requirements before submitting a liquor license application to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission (NLCC). If issues arise during the application process, he helps clients work through them to successfully obtain the license.

Robb is active in both the Omaha and legal communities. Robb is an Executive Editor of the PLD Quarterly, the Professional Lawyers Defense Fund’s newsletter, an active member of the National Association of Licensing and Compliance Professionals, and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Defense Counsel Association. Outside of the office, Robb enjoys volunteering at his children’s school, watching movies, spending time with his three kids, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
